Experiential Positive Psychology training in Malaysia

Help your people flourish at work.

Posikata Consultancy, led by Positive Psychologist Edward Chan (MAPPCP), designs experiential, psychology-based training, coaching and team programmes for organisations across Malaysia and Southeast Asia. People learn by doing, through simulations, games and challenges, so sessions are genuinely fun and the lessons stick. Every programme starts with a discovery call and a psychological audit, so no two are the same.

Why most training doesn't stick

Too much lecture, too much theory

Hours of slides and models leave people nodding along, but they never practise the skill, so nothing changes at work.

The same slides for every company

Off-the-shelf content ignores your culture, your pressures and the people in the room.

Feel-good on Friday, forgotten by Monday

Inspiration without practice fades within days, and nothing changes in how the team works.

No starting point, no proof

Without a baseline, participants can't see where they stand, and HR can't show what improved.

How every programme is built

Nothing off the shelf. Ever.

Every Posikata programme follows the same five steps, so the learning fits your people and each participant knows exactly where they are starting from.

Book a discovery call
  1. 1

    Discovery call

Before anything is designed, we meet your HR or L&D team, and often the line managers, to understand the exact pain points, who will attend and what needs to change.

  2. 2

    Designed for you

We build the content, case studies, examples and activities around your industry and your people. We don't have off-the-shelf programmes, and we won't sell you one.

  3. 3

    Experiential delivery

Participants learn by doing, through simulations, building challenges, games and role plays that mirror real work, each followed by a structured debrief. Less lecturing, more practice.

  4. 4

    Psychological audit

Every programme comes with an assessment exclusive to its theme, such as the Psychological Safety Audit, DISC Assessment or PCQ-12. Participants complete it before the session, so each person has a clear picture of where they stand, and we draw on their results throughout the programme.

  5. 5

    Report & follow-up

You receive a post-training report with evaluation results, the trainer's observations about your team and recommended next steps.

Experiential Learning

People learn by doing, and they have fun doing it

Most of a Posikata session is spent in simulations, building challenges, games and role plays that mirror real work. Laughter lowers defences, so people speak up, try things and remember them. Every activity ends in a structured debrief, so the fun always turns into insight.

A regional team raising cards during a game-based activity Participants building a card tower together Participants giving each other sticky-note feedback A team building a structure from straws in a simulation

How every activity works

  1. 1

    Experience

Teams play a simulation, game or challenge that mirrors real work: limited resources, time pressure, different roles.

  2. 2

    Reflect

We pause and debrief what actually happened, who spoke up, and how decisions were made.

  3. 3

    Connect

Participants link what they noticed to a Positive Psychology framework and to their own workplace.

  4. 4

    Apply

Each person commits to one specific action to try back at work.

Our approach

Grounded in Positive Psychology

Our methods strengthen the cognitive, emotional and behavioural wellbeing of people at work. We build on strengths and growth rather than fixing faults, so results last long after the session instead of fading like a feel-good talk.

Every engagement draws on four ways of working, which we call F.A.C.T.

  • F

    Facilitation

Positive inquiry that builds learning from your people's own experience.

  • A

    Assessment

DISC, EQ-i 2.0, PCQ-12, PERMA and our Psychological Safety Audit.

  • C

    Coaching

One-to-one and group coaching that turns insight into lasting change.

  • T

    Training & team building

Experiential programmes that build skills and bring teams closer.

Questions HR and L&D managers ask

Can't find your answer? Get in touch and we'll reply within one working day.

Are all your programmes customised?

Yes, every one. Each programme starts with a discovery call or meeting to understand your exact pain points, who is attending and what needs to change. We then design the content, case studies and activities around your organisation. We don't have any off-the-shelf programmes.

What is the pre-programme assessment?

Every programme includes an assessment, or psychological audit, exclusive to its theme. Examples are the Psychological Safety Audit, a DISC profile, the PCQ-12 Psychological Capital questionnaire or the Workplace PERMA Profiler. Participants complete it before the session, so each person has a clear, honest picture of their starting point before learning begins. We also use the results to fine-tune the programme.

What does Experiential Learning look like in your sessions?

Most of the session is spent doing, not listening. Teams take part in business simulations, building challenges, card and board games and role plays, such as Wolf on Wall Street, Real Estate Tycoon, House of Cards and our C.O.R.E. missions. Each activity mirrors a real workplace situation and is followed by a structured debrief, so the fun turns into insight and a specific action. That is why participants consistently rate our trainer engagement at 4.7 out of 5.

Are your programmes claimable under HRD Corp?

Yes. Edward is an HRD Corp–certified trainer (Train-the-Trainer, TTT/11242), and our in-house programmes can be structured as HRD Corp claimable training for registered employers. Share your dates and headcount and we'll advise on the scheme and prepare the supporting documents.

What topics do you cover?

Our signature programmes cover Psychological Safety, DISC, Positive Psychology and wellbeing (PERMA), resilience and Psychological Capital, managing dynamic and multigenerational teams, Emotional Intelligence for leaders, supervisory skills, influential presentation and persuasion, and experiential team building. We also run programmes on hybrid and AI-enabled leadership, creativity, problem solving and mental health first aid.

What makes Positive Psychology training different from a motivational talk?

Positive Psychology is the scientific study of what helps people and organisations flourish. Our sessions use evidence-based frameworks and validated assessments that participants practise and apply at work. They are not one-off “feel-good” talks.

How long is a programme, and how many people can join?

Most in-house programmes run for one to two days. Leadership journeys can run over several months, with assignments between sessions. We recommend about 15 to 30 participants for interactive workshops and 30 to 50 per group for team building, and we facilitate conferences of 500+.

Do you run training virtually, and in which languages?

Yes. We deliver in person across Malaysia and Southeast Asia, and run live virtual sessions for distributed or regional teams. Programmes are delivered in English or Bahasa Malaysia, and assessments such as the Psychological Safety Audit are available in both languages.

How do you measure the impact of training?

Every participant completes an evaluation, and many programmes include a before-and-after measure such as the PERMA pulse check. After each programme you receive a post-training report with the results, participant feedback, the trainer's observations about your team and recommended next steps.
